Wheels Down Japan is an independent guide for English-speaking travelers arriving in Japan. Every fare, timetable, and price on this site traces back to a dated source — and expires when that source goes stale.

Why this site exists

Most Japan travel content is a content mill: articles are copied from each other, numbers are outdated or invented, and affiliate links are placed without disclosure. We built the opposite — a site where every figure comes from a recorded source with a retrieval date, and where we say “not yet tested” when we have not verified something ourselves.

How we work

Every number on this site lives in an internal evidence ledger — a structured database where each entry has a claim, a value, a source URL, a retrieval date, and an expiry date. Articles pull directly from active, non-private ledger entries. When a source goes stale, the entry is marked (not deleted) and the article is flagged for refresh.

Who we are
