Wheels Down Japan (“we”, “us”) operates wheelsdownjapan.com. This page explains what data we collect, why, and what your rights are.

Analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is privacy-first and does not use cookies to identify individual users. Cloudflare collects aggregated, anonymized metrics (page views, country-level location, referrer) to help us understand which content is useful.

We also use Google Search Console to monitor search performance. Google does not share individual user data with us through this tool — we see aggregate query and click data only.

We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any third-party tracking pixels that set cookies in your browser.

Affiliate links

When you click an affiliate link (all links starting with /go/), you are redirected to a third-party partner site (e.g. Klook, Viator, Bounce, Saily). These partners may set their own cookies and collect data according to their own privacy policies. We have no control over their data practices.

Data we do not collect

We do not operate a user account system. We do not collect email addresses, names, phone numbers, or payment information. We do not have a newsletter or mailing list.

Server logs

Our hosting provider (Cloudflare Pages) may retain standard server access logs (IP address, timestamp, request path) for security and abuse-prevention purposes. These logs are retained by Cloudflare according to their own policies and are not shared with us.

Cookies

This site does not set any first-party cookies. The only cookies you may encounter are set by our affiliate partners when you click through to their sites, or by Cloudflare for bot protection. We do not display a cookie banner because we do not set tracking cookies ourselves.

Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights under:

• GDPR (EU/UK): access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection.
• CCPA/CPRA (California): know, delete, opt-out of sale, non-discrimination.
• APPI (Japan): access, correction, suspension of use.

Because we do not collect personal data, most of these rights are already satisfied by default. If you believe we hold data about you, please contact us and we will respond within 30 days.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from children.

We may update this policy from time to time. The date above reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be noted on this page.
