Affiliate disclosure

Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you book or buy through them, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. This never changes what we recommend: recommendations follow the sourced evidence, and pages state plainly when something is not yet tested.

Affiliate links carry rel="sponsored nofollow" and are disclosed both at the top of the page and beside the link itself.

What a commission cannot buy

We do not accept payment for placement. Comparison criteria are published on the methodology page, and every figure we cite — with its source, retrieval date and expiry — is listed on the sources page.

The clearest test of this is where we make nothing. A number of guides carry no affiliate link at all, because the only thing to buy is sold by the operator at the gate, allocated by a government ballot, or priced by a city:

Where an affiliate link would argue against the advice on the page, there is no link.

Corrections

If a figure here is out of date or wrong, email [email protected]. Corrections are published on the article that carried the error, with the date and what changed. We do not edit a number quietly and move on — if the first version could have cost you money, the record of that should survive.
