Two fast trains run late from Narita: the JR N’EX toward Tokyo and Shinjuku, and the Keisei Skyliner toward Nippori and Keisei-Ueno. This guide gives their verified last departures and arrivals from the official timetables, so you can judge your own margin.
Read the times as “ready to leave arrivals”
We do not promise you will catch a train. Use your ready-to-leave-arrivals time — when you are actually through immigration and baggage and standing at the station — not your scheduled landing time. Immigration and baggage can take a while on a full flight, so build in a buffer and compare it against the departures below.
Last N’EX and last Skyliner
The last N’EX (service N’EX 54) has different departure times from Terminal 1 versus Terminals 2·3, with published arrivals at Tokyo and Shinjuku. The last Skyliner likewise departs at different times from Terminal 1 versus Terminals 2·3, arriving at Nippori and Keisei-Ueno. Departures by terminal, arrivals and fares are listed in the sourced-figures section below, from the JR East and Keisei official pages. Departure and arrival times shift with timetable revisions, so reconfirm on the official pages for your travel date.
Fares differ by destination — Tokyo, Shinjuku/Shibuya and Yokohama are three different prices, so check the one that matches where you are actually going.
After the trains stop
Once both trains have gone, your options fall into categories rather than fixed prices:
- Late-night bus — check the official, date-specific bus timetable before you rely on it.
- Airport hotel or capsule — sleep at the airport and travel in the morning.
- Taxi — available around the clock, at a metered fare that varies.
- Pre-booked transfer — arranged in advance; price depends on the operator and route.
We do not publish fixed prices for these because they vary by date, operator and destination.
