And if your phone is unlocked and eSIM-compatible, consider skipping the device entirely — an eSIM data plan usually beats both rentals on price, with nothing to pick up, charge, or return.

Good to know

Both companies run airport pickup counters, so you can collect the device when you land and drop it in a postbox when you fly home. Read the tier, not the banner: in this market “unlimited” often means a daily fair-use allowance followed by severe throttling, and the throttled speed above tells you exactly how severe. Sharing one unit among several phones drains the battery fast, so pack a small power bank for long days out.
